OPAC + El Concilio announce COVID-19 Poster Art Contest

Oxnard, CA - The Oxnard Performing Arts Center Corporation (OPAC) and El Concilio Family Services have teamed up for a COVID-19 Poster Art Contest which is accepting submissions now through March 3, 2023. There are two categories for entries: Grades K-5 and 6-12. Prizes will be offered for the top 3 winners in each category: 1st place - $500 cash prize, 2nd place - $200 cash prize, and 3rd place a $50 Target gift card. Prize Sponsor is The Children’s Workshop and funding is provided in part through the California VA58 Campaign.

COVID-19 took a devastating toll on our community and we’re still dealing with the virus and its impacts. We need your help to make sure our friends, family members, neighbors, and peers stay protected because the virus has not gone away.

Local youth in Grades K-12 are encouraged to create posters that remind people about COVID-19 safety and the importance of vaccines. Posters can show how COVID has affected students or their community. They can also be more general and encourage mask-wearing, getting the vaccine or getting boosted.

How It Works

  1. Get creative by designing a post with your own unique message about COVID-19 safety, community health, and/or vaccines and boosters, and what the pandemic means to you. Winners will get awesome prizes and the chance to have their poster displayed on websites, social media platforms, and future digital and print marketing.

  2. Create a poster manually or digitally.

  3. Submit your poster by March 3, 2023 to OPAC
